Why End of Life Pet Photography?

a pet is not a pet for long...

Very quickly they forge a special place in our heart becoming a loved member of our family.

We take photos throughout their whole lives, but sometimes we miss having everyone together.

Showing the love, connection and bond you share with your  companion can be very healing and can help with the grieving journey.

If this is you, End of Life Pet Photography may be a warm option for you to consider.

a little about me

Hi, I’m Kim May a Family + Nature Photographer in West Auckland.

My family is made up if a surfer husband, a rugby player son Frank our cheeky 3 year old staffie, Ashley our snuggly cat and Bud my first ever dog, best friend and....well, he’s my BEST friend.

Bud came into our lives 7 months before our son and was with me through post natal depression. He always comes to my side when I am unwell or sad and the first to greet me when I get home.

I’ve only lost one pet in my life; a cat called Swaney. She was there my first 14 years of life. I was devastated when she passed and I never got to say goodbye or get one last photo with her.

Bud is 11yrs and currently not well. I’m taking photos of him, with my son, my husband and nagging my family to do the same for me.

Our memories are all we have left after they are gone and if I ever loose mine, I want to have a photo to remind me of this incredable spirit that loved me unconditionally until the very end.
