Your body spends nine months building something extraordinary. For most of us, the only proof that's left afterward is a handful of photographs and a memory that fades faster than we'd like. This year, that's changing — at least here in Auckland.


I'm thrilled to introduce a new collaboration between Kim May Photographer and The Bronzed Belly: a limited pop-up experience that pairs fine art maternity photography with hand-cast bronze belly sculpture, so this season of your life can be kept in two different ways, not just remembered in one.

Why We Teamed Up


Amber Carter, founder of The Bronzed Belly, started her business after her own pregnancy taught her how quickly this season passes. Using 3D scanning technology, she transforms the exact shape of a growing belly into a timeless bronze sculpture - a piece of art built from your body, not just an image of it.


I've spent over a decade photographing maternity and newborn sessions across Auckland, and I've always believed a photograph does something a sculpture can't: it holds the light, the connection, the way you actually carried your baby - not just the shape you carried them in.



Put the two together, and you get a complete record of this season: one half visual, one half physical.
